My journey into real estate began long before I realized it. Growing up in the small town of Garrison, Texas (population 895), I was raised on a farm surrounded by cattle, horses, pigs, chickens, and even a couple of goats. Our land was a source of everything we needed, from fresh eggs and southern fruit trees to daily lessons in hard work and resourcefulness. My family instilled in me a commitment to community and a deep appreciation for the value of helping others.
Sundays were special in our family—dedicated to faith and service. After church, my granddaddy Deacon Ozine, my twin brothers, uncles, and cousins would repair old trailer houses and homes on our family land. My grandmother, lovingly called Madea, often said, “Your granddaddy was a carpenter, like Jesus.” These moments of service were paired with my own Sunday tradition: yard sale adventures. Together, Madea and I would visit local yard sales, often discovering not only secondhand treasures but opportunities to support neighbors in need. For us, yard sales weren’t just about buying things—they were about uplifting our community.
At 25, inspired by my family’s heritage of hard work and service, I bought my first property in Texas. Later, I purchased another in Memphis, TN, which marked the start of my unexpected path as an “accidental flipper.” My passion for real estate grew from there.
In Memphis, I met my friend and mentor, Taylor, who introduced me to wholesale real estate. During a cold call, Taylor referred to me as “Tony, her partner.” The lady on the other end replied, “Tony Who???” That moment sparked a nickname and gave me the opportunity to reintroduce myself as Tony Roberts, Your Wholehearted Real Estate Investor—here to help.
I founded Optional Holdings, an independent investment consulting company, with a mission to empower challenged homeowners while assisting real estate investors and renovator flippers in reaching their goals. Whether providing fast solutions to distressed homeowners or producing profitable properties for investors, my focus remains on service, community, and creating win-win outcomes.
Inspired by my family’s legacy, I pursue real estate with purpose and intention, ensuring these values are passed down to my daughter. Every step I take is guided by the belief that true success comes from helping others.
